Why Is Colorectal Cancer on the Rise?

The typical Western lifestyle allows undigested waste to accumulate in the colon, creating a toxic burden akin to a bowling ball in the gut. This excessive fecal matter is linked to the recent rise in colorectal cancer rates.

What is Cancer?

Cancer is the seventh and final stage of the disease process where unrestrained growth of abnormal cells leads to tumor proliferation. The buildup of tumors can invade and destroy healthy tissue, causing damage to the body.

According to statistics from the American Cancer Society, the proportion of colorectal cancer cases in people 55 and younger more than doubled from 1995 to 2019. Approximately 273,800 of the 1.3 million people living with colorectal cancer in 2010 were under 55.

By 2030, colorectal cancer is projected to be the leading cancer killer in people ages 20 to 49. Symptoms can go undetected for long periods of time, allowing malignant cancers to spread untreated.

What About Genetics?

Genetics and family history account for only about 25% of cases. The surge in young people is most notable among Black Americans, Alaska Natives, and Native Americans.

So Why Are Cases Rising So Rapidly?

Lifestyle Choices - Poor lifestyle habits like smoking, eating water-deficient foods, low in fiber, lack of consistent movement, and poor sleep can greatly increase cancer risk. As more countries around the world adopt unhealthy Western lifestyles, cancer rates will continue to rise.

Environmental Exposures - Increased pollution, radiation, use of pesticides, herbicides, and other carcinogens may potentially pose a threat to microbiomes and normal organ functions.

Aging Population - Cancer is more common in older adults due to the amount of time it usually takes for tumors to become malignant and impair body functions.

How Can People Practice Prevention?

There are steps that people can take daily for a more holistic approach to their health. Avoid carcinogens like alcohol, ultra-processed foods, tobacco, radiation, harmful chemicals, and drugs.

Eat more whole, fresh, ripe plants, exercise and sweat out toxins, and minimize exposure to toxins.

As always, talk with a health professional, listen to your body's wisdom and nourish it with pure, natural sources of energy and nutrition.
